Influenze e riferimenti

Il Progetto Monviso è il frutto della sedimentazione di diverse esperienze ludiche e non che ho avuto nel corso dei miei ultimi trent’anni di vita (e di gioco). L'idea iniziale doveva essere molto più simile ad un gdr OSR ma poi le cose si diventate diverse.

Quella che segue è una lista con le opere che sono state la fonte d'ispirazione e di riferimento più forti ed evidenti ma, tra le righe, ce ne sono molte altre. Per ognuna di queste influenze vi consiglio - se non l’avete già fatto - di vedere i film e le serie, leggere i fumetti o i libri e di provare i giochi di ruolo!

• Film e serie: Labyrinth - Dove tutto è possibile di Jim Henson, Dark Crystal (film) e Dark Crystal - La resistenza (serie televisiva) di Frank Oz e Jim Henson;
• Fumetti: Elfquest di Wendy e Richard Pini;
• Letteratura (fiction e non): L’eroe dai mille volti di Joseph Campbell, Il viaggio dell’eroe di Christopher Vogler, La spada spezzata e Tre cuori e tre leoni di Poul Anderson, il ciclo di racconti di Corum e il ciclo di racconti di Elric di Meniboné di Michael Moorcock e il ciclo di romanzi de Il libro Malazan dei caduti di Steven Erikson;
• Giochi di ruolo: World of dungeons di John Harper, Heart: the city beneath di Grant Howitt,  Cthulhu dark di Graham Walmsley, Cairn di Yochai Gal, Fleshscape di Manuel Galletto, Ironsworn di Shawn Tomkin e Donjon di Clinton R. Nixon. 

Novità: la versione 0.1 del gioco è pronta e mi sto organizzando per l'alphatesting del gioco (sto cercando anche di imparare a usare decentemente Discord!), in compenso rileggendo il testo ho già pronta (o quasi) la versione 0.2 che sarà probabilmente quella testata.

Progetto Monviso is the result of settling of different experiences (ludic and not) over my last thirty years of life (and play). Formerly the subject of the game was more OSRish but ss the time goes by things become different.

The following list encompasses my main sources of inspiration but many others can be read between the lines.  For everyone I suggest to watch the movie, read the comic or the book or play the game!

• Movie and series: Labyrinth by Jim Henson, The Dark Crystal (movie) and  The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance (series) by Frank Oz and Jim Henson;
• Comic book: Elfquest by Wendy and Richard Pini;
• Books (fictional and not): The Hero with a Thousand Faces by Joseph Campbell, The Writer's Journey: Mythic Structure For Writers by Christopher Vogler, The Borken Sword and Three Hearts and Three Lions by Poul Anderson, the novels about Corum and Elric of Meniboné by Michael Moorcock and the books of The Malazan Book of the Fallen  series by Steven Erikson;

News: version 0.1 of the  game is ready and I'm scheduling the alphatesting (I'm also trying to learn to use decently Discord!), to make up for it rereading the text I made (almost) the version 0.2. Probably this last one will be played in the testing phase.
